Sustainable agriculture
that respects
the earth

Sowing Good Sense connects
customer and consumer
expectations with sustainable
farming practices.

Sustainable agriculture is a key solution to the challenges of global warming and the food needs of a growing world population. Our objective is clear: to accelerate the commitment of agri-food value chains (wheat-flour for bakery, barley-malt for beer, whisky and distillers, grapes and vines for wine, and all farming products) to producing better, more sustainable food for the benefit of all.

BIODIVERSITY

Protecting and enhancing biodiversity is the very essence of our approach. That's why we include biodiversity-friendly practices in our specifications and raise awareness of their importance. We have indicators that enable us to measure these practices among our partner farmers.
For example, we currently have more than 4,430 beehives on our partner farms, representing over 130 million bees!
Climate / Carbon

REDUCED CARBON FOOTPRINT

We are committed to an ongoing process of reflection with our partner farmers to reduce our carbon footprint. We measure the greenhouse gas emissions of our value chains with an indicator. Plots of wheat and barley grown by our partner farmers are also fertilised with low-carbon fertilisers.
Soil
+

SOIL FERTILITY

Soil fertility is essential for our partner farmers to ensure sustainable harvests.
To maintain and improve this fertility, we develop value chains in which our partner farmers implement farming practices, such as cover crop, to avoid bare ground.
Water

WATER RESOURCES
Preserving water resources is essential for our Sowing Good Sense sustainable supply chains.
We work every day to implement practices that protect water quality and reduce its use, whether on farms or in industrial processes.
